SAN FRANCISCO, CA - November 12, 2024 - Leap, the leading software platform for virtual power plants (VPPs), and Carrier, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, today announced the launch of SmartSave, a new VPP offering for Carrier’s smart thermostat customers. Through SmartSave, households in California can earn new incentives and reduce their energy bills while contributing to a more resilient and sustainable electric grid. 

Leap’s software-only solution facilitates fast, automated access to grid revenue opportunities for Carrier’s smart home technologies, enabling customers to enroll and participate in VPPs in a few simple clicks. The SmartSave program automatically adjusts thermostat settings for participating customers during grid events, helping to relieve strain on the grid without compromising home comfort.

Each small temperature adjustment through SmartSave adds up to a meaningful impact, enhancing grid stability and reducing reliance on fossil fuels during peak demand periods.
