Leap and V2G leader successfully tackle innovative demand response project

The Challenge

Nuvve was executing a unique demand response (DR) project with resources inside a microgrid at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Nuvve needed a DR partner that was (a) qualified to offer both DRP and Scheduling Coordinator services; (b) undeterred by the hurdles of a non-standard project; and (c) willing to learn, adapt and innovate in partnership with Nuvve.

The Solution

Leap’s advanced software platform, coupled with its team’s expertise navigating regulatory and market complexities, made Leap the ideal partner to help Nuvve make the project successful. Leap collaborated with the CPUC, the utility and the university to overcome baselining challenges and metering obstacles to successfully activate the site in the market.

Thanks to Leap’s white label model, Nuvve continues to fully own the customer relationship and focus on its main V2G business while generating recurring grid revenue streams.

About Nuvve

Nuvve is accelerating the electrification of transportation through its proprietary vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology. Its mission is to lower the cost of electric vehicle ownership while supporting the integration of renewable energy sources. Since its founding in 2010, Nuvve has launched successful V2G projects on five continents and is deploying commercial services worldwide.

“Leap was willing to take innovative steps that more established entities weren't. We found a partner with whom we had synergies and could grow and change the energy world together."
